Bauer Builders is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Interior Designer to join our growing team.
Interior Designer Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture
- Creative portfolio of imaginative and artistic design work
- Strong written and verbal communicator
- Prior architectural office experience preferred
- Interior design work experience preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, and 3D rendering
Interior Designer Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify client goals and objectives
- Understand and convey the capabilities of the client’s stated budget
- Develop interior space plan concepts
- Prepare presentation drawings and models for developing designs of all interior design scopes of work
- Source materials and products, including sample ordering and maintaining a current library of relevant materials
- Participate in design meetings with clients
- Produce plan drawings, ceiling plans, elevations, details, and schedules
- Research materials and assist with producing specifications for interior scope of work
- Knowledge of systems furniture with the ability to work with vendors and prepare documents for bidding
- Set and manage timelines for completion of work
- Assist with cost estimating the interior design scope of work
- Make revisions from redlined drawings
- Review construction phase shop drawings and samples
- Conduct project walk-throughs
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members, clients, vendors, and contractors
- Prepare visually compelling presentations for client meetings and interviews
- Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
- Must have ability to read contract documents and contract drawings
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be results oriented with the ability to manage “multiple” priorities effectively
- Must be well-organized and reliable
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
