Assistant Construction Estimator
Bauer Builders is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized assistant construction estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will help our estimators and project managers meet their daily goals. You will be in charge of soliciting Sub-contractors for bids, following up and keeping organized.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record
- Work history in the construction industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
- Must have ability to read contract documents and contract drawings
- Must have knowledge of the construction industry and estimating
- The ability to communicate clearly on technical topics
- Must have ability to read, interpret and clarify blueprint plans and specifications
- Must possess excellent reporting and documentation skills
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be results oriented with the ability to manage “multiple” priorities effectively
- Must be well-organized and reliable
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- A positive outlook and a willingness to learn
Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings and specifications.
- Organize sub-contractor’s quotations and negotiate to ensure quotes meet contract documents.
- Understand contractual terms and conditions.
